At Plumtree we have an established School Council. Each term, pupils from Year 1 to 6 will be asked to give a speak indicating why they would like to be their class representative that term. The class then vote, showing their democratic skills, on whom they believe to be the best candidate.

Consequently, the School Council will have various meetings throughout the term to organise events such as Children in Need and the Summer Fayre. Every year the School Council also decide how to spend money that they had raised the previous year at the Summer Fayre.

The class representatives feedback the meeting minutes to their classes and canvas them for any matters which they would like to bring to subsequent meetings. Issues that have been raised in the past include creating a gender-neutral uniform and playground equipment purchases.
